Supermarkets and shopping
For shopping the city of York has few equals, the variety and quality of shops in the city centre being one of York's attractions. There are also three large out of town retail developments that are easily accessed via the city's outer ring road. Click on links below to visit.
Clifton Moor
Monks Cross
York Designer Outlet
The major supermarket chains are all well represented in York, the closest one to Acaster Malbis is the vast Tesco superstore at Askham Bar - just 3 miles away, and open 24 hours a day. Tesco also have another store at Clifton Moor, and in addition there are two Sainsbury's, two Marks and Spencer food halls, Asda and Morrisons (and one more planned for construction soon!).
However as a relief from the supermarket giants there are three outstanding farm shops selling fresh local produce within two or three miles of the York outer ring road. These together with our local butchers and visiting fish man should ensure that your larders are kept well stocked!
Village Inns and Restaurants
We have mentioned our own village pub, The Ship Inn, and the fact that there are five more in our neighbouring villages of Bishopthorpe and Copmanthorpe. There is however an abundance of others in the city and the immediate surrounding villages which serve both the local community and the summer influx of tourists.
Local Accommodation
We can offer both holiday and short-term residential accommodation at our other park in the village. Whilst our weekly rates for Holiday Cottages and Holiday Caravans are shown on our website please contact us for details of availability and charges for our short-term residential accommodation.
